We're still here!
When Jacob met Andrew…
I brought Jacob up to the Hospital Tuesday evening. Things were pretty un-eventful at the first meeting. We had a room full of people and we were passing Andrew around. Jacob never saw Carrie holding Andrew.
Jacob got a little upset when we turned out one of the lights in the room (we dim the lights in the living room at bedtime so he generally freaks out whenever we dim lights and it isn’t bedtime). After that we played with his doctor toys and letters until it was time to go. Then he gave Carrie and Andrew a kiss goodbye.
The second meeting was quite a bit different. Grandma Rose was holding Andrew when we came in, and I decided we should just go ahead and get it over with. Carrie took Andrew and Jacob immediately freaked. After several minutes of crying, I took him to sit on Carrie’s other side in bed.
That calmed him down and he started playing with Andrew. He honked Andrew’s nose, and checked to make sure Andrew had cheeks, hair, a head, toes, knees and fingers.
After that he wanted to be wherever Andrew was. As we were saying our goodbyes Jacob gave Andrew a nickname; “night night Drew, night night Drew”.
Hello World!!
Hello, my name is Andrew William Edomm. For those of you who don’t know, I’m Jacob’s little bro. I was really getting tired of my last place so I started squeezing mommies blood vessels so I could get out. My plan worked. It raised her blood pressure high enough that they finally set me free on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 2:18 PM.
I’m trim at 7 pounds 2 ounces, 19.5 inches long. I love milk and I don’t cry. Well, maybe I cry a little, but only cause this room is so freakin’ cold.
I haven’t slept much since getting out. Which is good since I’ve had several visitors. My favorite was when Jacob came by to say hi. He said he would teach me how to run. It looks like tons of fun. When he had to go home he gave me a kiss on the head and said bye bye. I must admit he worries me a little. I overheard him saying “Andrew Trash”. Mommy and Daddy assured me he was talking about putting my diapers in the trash… but I’m not so sure.
Mommy is doing well. She looks really tired though… and hungry. I could tell it had been a while since she had eaten when I was born. They’ve been giving her milk and some clear stuff, but she doesn’t seem happy with it. I don’t know why… milk is AWESOME!
Here are a few pictures of the whole event…
and a little video…
for the record… I’m a little boy, not a bunny!
